Lately, life has been life-ing a little too hard, especially during the last couple of months. I recently moved into a new house, picked up a new hobby, and invested in myself by enrolling in a new learning program. But needless to say, I haven’t been able to stay as glamorous with my chaotic new schedule.

Luckily, that changed when I attended the Couture a La Mode fashion show, this weekend.  I finally had an excuse to get out of the hustle and bustle lane and sprint to the glamorous life I had neglected for the past two months. The show featured multiple up-and-coming designers and a special showcasing of Project Runway Season 19 finalist Chasity Sereal, a new line.

I thought long and hard about what I should wear to my first show since moving into a new chapter in my life. I knew I wanted the color scheme to be brown, white, and blue. I recently found this cute draped satin leopard print halter top and I thought it would be perfectly paired with an ivory mini skort. I also have this new light blue swipe bag from Coperini and I thought that blue would make for the perfect accent color and add a special touch. I also wanted to play around with textures by adding denim heels with a metallic cap toe. The denim was the perfect touch and I felt like the outfit was giving, Texas meets Jersey.

I always look forward to getting glammed up for a night out with my girlfriends and watching amazing designers bring their looks to fruition.

I have been on a journey to find hidden gems in Houston, and I recently discovered a polo club, tucked away in the Memorial Park area. After I found this hidden gem, I was invited to a polo match shortly after. Of course, I couldn’t wait to pick out my outfit for this event and it was the last match of the season, so I had to dress to impress. I knew I had to wear something “casual smart”, I also wanted to add a dab of elegance to my attire.

I recently came across a beautiful Antonio Melani, garden A-Line dress and thought it would be perfect for this event. The green garden detail at the bottom of the dress was yet simple but stunning. Then I paired it with green heels with gold rims along the heel matching the dress perfectly. Of course, I added my go-to black sunnies and gold jewelry to complement the green accent of the dress and heels. I was going to wear a green scarf around my head but thank goodness I decided not to wear it because it was scorching hot that day, but I think the final look was perfect.

I had such a blast at the last match of the season from the amazing food and drinks to the lively crowd. I received many lovely compliments, I can’t wait for the next season. What would you wear to your first polo match?

Houston Fashion Week has officially wrapped and looking back, I’m so proud of how far Houston has come when putting on fashion shows. Now that I know my way around the ropes, I couldn’t wait to show off my outfit.

Day 2 was ‘Night of Camp’ and I wanted to combine prints and color. I was influenced by the show from the night before and seeing the leopard prints and bright colors, a lightbulb went off in my head. I realized I had a leopard print maxi dress and bright red kitten heels that went perfectly together. I wanted to go for a sultry look, so I decided to pin part of the dress to my hip to make a slit. Then I paired it with sheer black gloves for more of an elegant look and a gold double buckle belt. Then to add the finishing touches, I added red rimless sunnies.

The featured designer for the night was Nicholas Nguyen, showcasing his unique style and combining creativity and elegance. Danny Nguyen whose designs are heavily influenced by his Vietnamese background, showcases impeccable prints and vibrant colors. Berny Martin's collection, Catou blended masculine and feminine styles, creating an impressive and clean look.
