MIXING TEXTURES: TEXAS GIRL MEETS JERSEYLICIOUS

ree

Lately, life has been life-ing a little too hard, especially during the last couple of months. I recently moved into a new house, picked up a new hobby, and invested in myself by enrolling in a new learning program. But needless to say, I haven’t been able to stay as glamorous with my chaotic new schedule.

Luckily, that changed when I attended the Couture a La Mode fashion show, this weekend.  I finally had an excuse to get out of the hustle and bustle lane and sprint to the glamorous life I had neglected for the past two months. The show featured multiple up-and-coming designers and a special showcasing of Project Runway Season 19 finalist Chasity Sereal, a new line.

I thought long and hard about what I should wear to my first show since moving into a new chapter in my life. I knew I wanted the color scheme to be brown, white, and blue. I recently found this cute draped satin leopard print halter top and I thought it would be perfectly paired with an ivory mini skort. I also have this new light blue swipe bag from Coperini and I thought that blue would make for the perfect accent color and add a special touch. I also wanted to play around with textures by adding denim heels with a metallic cap toe. The denim was the perfect touch and I felt like the outfit was giving, Texas meets Jersey.

I always look forward to getting glammed up for a night out with my girlfriends and watching amazing designers bring their looks to fruition.
