As we are winding down to the end of the year, The Grid show put on Houston Fashion Week SS25. And of course, I had to step out and show out. The holidays are coming up so I couldn’t enjoy the full week that fashion week had to offer so I could only make one show. I decided to attend night three and the theme was “The Experience” which presented designs by Danny Nguyen, Candice Wang, and Caycee Black.

I wanted to have fun with my outfit of choice this time around since it may be the last show Houston presents for the next couple of months. I recently got these beautiful, embroidered hot pants and wanted them to be the focal point of my outfit, I knew I had to build the outfit around them. Since the shorts have a bold print and many colors, I decided to pair them with a bright red top that I can see myself wearing throughout the upcoming cooler seasons. I’ve been obsessed with animal print lately, so I wanted to add my favorite leopard print pantyhose. Picking the accessories was probably the easiest thing to do. I’ve had this gold belt that I have been dying to wear for the longest and knew that this would be the best outfit to wear it with. Then of course my go-to red kitten heels that go with nearly everything.

I thought this was a perfect way to end the season before the holidays. I can't wait to see what next year's fashion shows will present.

There’s nothing better than a Texas girl's love for leather…especially when the weather is below 90 degrees. It’s fall in Houston, so I enjoy the cooler nights and break out my favorite faux wide-leg leather pants. I was recently invited to the second annual Velocity Road fashion show. One of my favorite streetwear fashion designers, Brandon (Don) based in Houston, showcased his new line from his clothing brand, Lusid. Lusid is a high-end, handmade leather streetwear brand, he emphasizes bold colors, and daring, mysterious looks.

Since I knew that leather was the main feature during the show, I had to figure out how to style my pants and make them streetwear. I decided to wear a simple white T-shirt and a silver metal-plated belt that would add as my statement piece. Lately, I have been lazy with my hair, so to make things easier I threw on a baseball cap and covered it with a beautiful silk scarf so it could be the focal point of the outfit. Now for my accessories, I added my clear acrylic bangle, a chunky silver necklace, and an emerald, green acrylic clutch. Then I added my go-to Steve Madden slingback heels for the finishing touches.

I enjoyed putting this outfit together. Not only was it simple to style, but it was also paired with a few bold items. I’ve been enjoying the streetwear scene in Houston lately and look forward to the next showcase.

I recently was invited to another annual Yassy Brown Gonzalez, Haus of Brown Productions fashion show. This year the theme was Studio 54: Last Night of Disco. If you know me, you know that my favorite decade was the 70s and I’m even more intrigued by the iconic Studio 54, from the glitz, the glam, and sequins to the plunging necklines and bold gold heels.

I wanted to capture the essence of the luxurious nightlife that captivated the clubgoers of Studio 54, from the likes of Diana Ross, and Grace Jones to Bianca Jagger and Cher, I wanted to pull inspiration from the best to do it. To honor the most iconic establishment, I had to rewind time and find the most ritzy and scantly clad outfit.

I recently bought the most glittery, sequined maxi skirt and needed to build my entire outfit around that piece. I paired the skirt with a black crisscross wrap halter top to add a flare of sultriness. Then I added a pair of gold heels decorated with colorful butterflies along with a gold beaded clutch, gold dangling earrings, and a double-headed jaguar bracelet.

The show was amazing, and each designer paid homage to how funky and glamorous the disco era was. Shows like this always get me excited to get dressed up and with the disco theme, it was bringing in engagement from the crowd that you might seek. This production was one for the books and I can’t wait to see what next years have to bring.
