Houston Fashion Week was in full effect this week and truly eventful and hectic, I’m going to make this a two-part run down. Since it was my first time attending fashion week, I knew I was in for a treat, so I wanted to have as much fun with each outfit. I could not participate in all five shows, so I attended Day 1 ‘A Night of Wonder’, and Day 2 ‘A Night of Camp’.

Of course, I wanted to be on theme as much as possible and thought long and hard about how I wanted to pull inspiration for my outfit and that can be such an exciting but daunting task. Lately, I have been craving to dress up in a metallic and glittery outfit and then it dawned on me that those two are a perfect combination for the ‘A Night of Wonder’ theme. I recently purchased a silver metallic mini skirt, and I thought it would look perfect with a simple detailed pantyhose. I wanted something that screamed sultry, so I added this diamond studded bralette to go over a basic white tank and then paired the outfit with the cutest black chunky heels.

Now the show was giving EVERYTHING, from the colors, fabric choices, amazing prints, innovation, and creativity. I want to highlight this designer, Guillermo Alayon, and his In Love MX collection is heavily inspired by his rich Mexican background and his love for Houston culture and combining the two. His collection was a breath of fresh air with his use of luchador masks worn by many of the models, to the cowboy boots and hats giving a nod to Houston culture. It was one of the best experiences Houston had to offer and excited to look forward to many more shows.

BLACK SUNNIES

This weekend, I left the hustle and bustle of Houston to vacay to the vibrant city of San Antonio for a birthday celebration with family and friends. San Antonio is one of my favorite places to visit in Texas, from the beautiful views to the amazing to the distinctive cuisine and the rich history that it offers. I packed light since we were only staying for a couple of nights but wanted to make sure that I was able to break out my new vacay outfits.

This vacay was full of leisure time, lying out near the pool and taking in the incredible views at this breathtaking remote ranch out in the hill country. The first day, I wore this charming coral one piece with unique cut outs along with a black cover up skirt while catching some rays near the pool. There’s just something about vibrant coral that makes me excited to add more color to my summer wardrobe.

The second day was full of events including going to the San Antonio Zoo, exploring the city and of course I had to stop and get my taco fix (San Antonio has the best). I decided to wear a denim button up along with a basic black top and white scallop shorts that were so comfy. I added my favorite cheetah print tennis shoes just for this special occasion.

Then there was the last day of the trip and I just wanted to be as comfortable as possible, so I just wore an olive-green satin slip dress and paired it with simple black sandals. As we left paradise to go back home, we enjoyed taking the scenic route before getting back to out busy schedules. This trip was truly a much-needed reset, and I enjoyed every second of it. Do you have any favorite looks?

You know what time it is…that’s right, wedding season and nothing excites me more than getting an invitation to be a part of two families becoming one. Other than seeing a beautiful couple share their love for one another and enjoying the festivities, I enjoy any excuse to find a new outfit. Once I found out that the wedding I was attending would be outside, I had to go on the hunt for spring colors and breathable material.

That's when I found this gorgeous light blue linen dress from Naked Wardrobe, perfect for springtime and an outdoor wedding. I paired it with these cute platinum slingback kitten heels (no one has time to get stuck sinking in the grass). Normally I opt for gold jewelry but lately, I have been heavily invested in silver. I added my silver teardrop necklace and earring set with my new favorite accessory, a clear acrylic knot bangle. It’s such a unique piece, and I knew it would add some flavor to the outfit.

I enjoy getting ready for weddings and always have a perfect excuse to buy a beautiful dress, for the occasion. Hopefully, there will be more weddings to attend in the future. What is your go-to outfit at an outdoor wedding?
